Potemkin Villages is a clever new cooperative trick-taking game from Albi, inspired by the famous story of a crafty prince and his deception of Empress Catherine the Great. The game is due to be released on October 22. How did designer Petr Čáslava come up with such an unusual theme? And what do cats have to do with it? With its simple rules and fast-paced turns, yet plenty of room for thoughtful decisions, the game might never have come into existence if its designer, highly successful board game creator Tomáš Holek (SETI, Kingdom Come, Tea Garden), hadn’t suffered a neck injury.
